My Magazine pitch
Here is the first draft up of my idea for my magazine in its early stages.

Pre-Production Planning
Initial name for my magazine-
The initial name for my magazine is 'WOW!' I am choosing to go with this name of my magazine as i feel is fits with the style of a real life magazine and the connotations around the word wow make the audience think that the articles inside the magazine will bring out these type of reactions. It is also a short and snappy word with easily rolls of the tongue making it easily memorable and distinct.
Masthead designs-
These are the types of Logo designs I will be going with for my masthead, I have chosen to go for sans-serif fonts to give a more modern, clean and friendly look. The colour I will be using for my logo is red, this is because red has strong connotations of emotions like anger and love which is the sort of emotion that will be found within the articles of my magazine. The colour red also the colour of power so it will get my audiences attention and attract them to engage in the magazine. Within my masthead I will also have the date of the magazine, the price and what edition it is, these are all conventions of a real-life story magazine, these bits of text will be in serif font to give connotations of more formal text that lets the audience know how much the edition of the magazine will cost for example.
Articles that will appear in my magazine cover-
-Main cover line 1st edition- will be about an young male who was an ex gang member and saves a women from a burning car, i will be using this as my main article because it is in line with my brief as im representing young people and going against the stereotype of young people being lazy, violent and careless, which is a common representation in the main stream media, i will be looking to represent them as helping out in the community, doing good things not just because they have to, I feel like this will be able to engage and grab the attention of my target audience of 16-25 year olds as it will be relatable for them and i will try to emotionally engage them with the type of emotive language in the cover line and the main image will be a mid-close up shot showing the young person as a hero and has redeemed himself after being involved in gangs.
-Main cover line 2nd edition- my idea for the 2nd edition main article will be about an ethnic minority man who has overcome adversity and still pursued helping out in the community, this also goes against the negative racist stereotypes of middle eastern men being violent, terrorists and out to steal jobs and homes. The cover line i will use will be emotive and the type of story that will emotionally engage my target audience and will leave them wanting to know more about him and read on.
-cover line- will be about a husband who finds out the child his wife had isn't his, I will be using slang language like 'hubby' for husband to make it more relatable for my target audience of 16-25 year olds who tend to use this type of language more.
